

I had plenty of leftovers, but I couldn’t resist ordering dessert from Valhalla Bakery.

I ordered a couple plates and got to sample other meals my dinner companions ordered. My heart was content that I got try so many things at Dixie Dharma. Blackened Bratwurst patty, served on brioche bun with kraut (shredded and salted red cabbage), cajun remoulade, garlic pickles, crispy fried onions, and topped with cashew brew cheese. Market on South was my first stop, which has 2 plant-based spots in 1 shared space. That meant I had to squeeze in as many dishes as possible at each restaurant. Staying near the airport meant at least a 20 to 30-minute drive to almost every vegan restaurant. I spent most of my time inside working and not getting to enjoy the beautiful weather, but I found time to visit a few restaurants in the city. Coupled with covered outdoor seating and being pet friendly made for a great lunch. Our dharma fried chick’n served over garlic-rosemary mashed taters with cashew cheese sauce, sweet corn, served with traditional mac ’n cheese, crispy fried onions, & bread-n-butter pickles. You would never know the fried chicken is vegan Mac n cheese was great and the DHC bowl (fried chicken strips, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese) was fantastic. The tempeh bacon had a yummy smoky maple flavor and it worked really well with the lemon mayo. Dixie fried chicken dippers with choice of sauce, rosemary garlic mashed potatoes, cashew cheeze drizzle, charred corn, choice of mac, heirloom cherry tomatoes. This sandwich has heirloom tomato, arugula, smoked maple tempeh bacon, and lemon mayo on Texas toast. In a high-speed blender, combine the cashews, water, lemon juice, mustard, salt, nutritional yeast, and spices.
